- Own the technology behind Fanzter's products

- Expert knowledge of a web development framework (we use Ruby on Rails and Express)
- Knowledge of JavaScript or CoffeeScript and CSS
- Significant experience developing, releasing, and supporting web applications
- Must be able to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines imposed by rapid business growth
- Actively contributed to open source software
- Used Git for version control
- Comfortable in a small, intense, and high-growth startup environment
- An interest in sports and pop culture
Software Engineer/Web Developer
Are you a software engineer who loves building great products with the best tools for the job?
Responsibilities
- Develop significant portions of our applications and services, focused on the web and API stack
- Work closely with our CEO and product team to build great products
- Design and deliver software projects in collaboration with the CEO & engineering team
- Have an absolute love of programming
- Knowledge of a web development framework (we use Ruby on Rails and Express)
- Knowledge of JavaScript or CoffeeScript and CSS
- Experience developing, releasing, and supporting web applications
- Computer Science degree or equivalent experience
- Actively contributed to open source software
- Used Git for version control
- Set up your own hosting on EC2 or Joyent or Rackspace
- Comfortable in a small, intense, and high-growth startup environment
- An interest in sports and pop culture
Technology Intern
As a Technology Intern, you'll have the opportunity to work with experienced Designers, Producers, and Engineers to develop innovative, user-friendly web and mobile products.
All of our interns get to work on interesting technical challenges. These range from bite-sized feature development to large operational projects, such as building the systems that enable us to deliver fast and scalable products to our users. Some of the current technologies we use include: CoffeeScript, HTML5, MongoDB, MySQL, NodeJS, Objective-C, Ruby, Ruby on Rails, and Redis.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or equivalent
- Experience with web development and component-oriented software engineering
- Demonstrated open-source contribution
- Must have a strong entrepreneurial spirit, attention to detail, and an eye for making things better
